The plan draws extensively on the Manifesto of the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua Party and consensus reached with the Fiji Labour Party on issues of national importance to the achievement of the Vision of a Peaceful and Prosperous Fiji.
10 Lessons learnt from the mid-term Review of the Strategic Development Plan 2003-2005, planning document released in November 2004, has contributed to Government s decision on this Strategic Development Plan for 2007 to 2011. The Vision which drives the Plan is described in this chapter, together with the Mission and Guiding Principles that Government will follow in implementing policies. The Vision is a statement of how Government would like Fiji to be. The Mission and Guiding Principles summarise the approach and philosophy that Government will take in designing and implementing policies to achieve the Vision.
