6 The Honours Group Diploma from CIC met my ambitions for the future. 3 HONOURS GROUP DIPLOMAS The Honours Group Diploma programme is designed so that Members can choose a group of specialist Subjects, as well as gaining theoretical and practical knowledge on management and administration, including on leadership, motivation, strategy and other important topics. The Honours Group Diploma programme provides a wide range of study options leading to varied and extensive opportunities for career advancement. An Honours Group Diploma indicates that its holder has the competence, understanding and potential to become a successful senior manager, administrator or executive in his or her chosen career in industry, management, business, public service or other area; and it will provide the confi dence of knowing that he or she has proved capable of studying successfully at high level over a wide range of related areas, including advanced management.

7 An Honours Group Diploma is a level 5 award, for which the defi nition is: Competence which involves the application of a range of principles across a wide and often unpredictable variety of contexts. Substantial personal autonomy and often signifi cant responsibility for the work of others and for the allocation of substantial resources features strongly, as do personal accountability for analysis, design, planning, execution and evaluation. Should he or she require or want, the holder of a CIC Honours Group Diploma can proceed to higher levels of study including to undergraduate (Bachelor and fi rst degree) levels and graduate (MBA and Masters) levels, including CIC s Baccalaureate, Executive Business Administration and AMBMA programmes. Furthermore, an Honours Diploma holder will be granted automatic acceptance to CIC s Baccalaureate, Executive Business Administration and AMBMA programmes with one or more Study Exemptions.

8 In order to qualify for the prestigious award of an International Honours Group Diploma it is required that the 4 Core Subjects which comprise the Honours Group Diploma must be completed. The 4 Subjects are a group of related Subjects - see pages 6 and 7 - plus the study of Advanced Theory & Practice of Management & Administration , which is a compulsory Subject for all Honours Group Diplomas. There are two routes to achieving an Honours Group Diploma:- either: by enrolling for a complete Honours Diploma Programme (all 4 Subjects at one time - there is a separate and special Honours Group Diploma Enrolment/Application Form);or: by enrolling for and studying the 4 Subjects one or two at a time; then, so long as all 4 have been completed within fi ve years of each other, an Honours Group Diploma can be applied for.

9 The Honours Group Diploma Programme enables a Member to gain FIVE Diplomas: - one Diploma for each of the 4 individual Subjects (when the Examination for each one is passed); - and the Honours Group Diploma when all 4 Subjects are successfully completed (within fi ve years of each other).Note: it might be possible, on special request to CIC, to change one of the 4 Core Subjects of an Honours Group Diploma Programme, but Advanced Theory & Practice of Management & Administration is always compulsory; alternatively, it might be possible, on special request to CIC, to add one or more CIC Subjects to an Honours Group Diploma Programme.
