2 TSIO-520-B,BB, BE, D, DB, E, EB, J, JB, K, KB, L, LB, N, NB, U, UB, VB, WB; TSIO-550-A, B, C, E; TSIOL-550-A, B, C; GIO-550-A: GTSIO-520-C, D, F, G, H, K, L, M,N, R engines utilizing alternators as originally equipped or purchased as areplacement part under part numbers 649304, 649304A1, 649305 and evaluation of alternators returned to TCMfor no electrical output has identified failures of thestator/rectifier assembly in 100 Ampere gear drivenalternators. A revised alternator stator/rectifierassembly, part number 649303 Rev. G or H wasinstalled in new and rebuilt alternators part numbers649304, 649304A1, 649305 and 649305A1beginning September 22, 2000.

3 Part number649303 Rev. G or H may be used as a service sparepart for alternator s part numbers 649304,649304A1, 649305 and 649305A1. Additionally, TELEDYNE CONTINENTAL Motors is making the newalternator stator/rectifier assembly, part number656079 available as a service spare part for all gear-driven 100 Ampere : Part number 649304 and 649304A1 is a100 Ampere alternator supplied withoutthe drive coupling and P/N 649305 and649305A1 is a 100 Ampere alternatorsupplied with the drive coupling all stator/rectifier assemblies priorto P/N 649303 Rev.

4 G with new part number656079 stator/rectifier assembly at the nextalternator service alternator service requirements and timeintervals refer to latest revision of TCM AlternatorService Instructions Form X30531-3. TCMalternators are to be disassembled, inspected,repaired and tested to assure performance inaccordance with the manufacturer s specificationevery 500 hours of operation and at ENGINE OF A STATOR / RECTIFIERASSEMBLY WILL RESULT IN LOSS OFALTERNATOR ELECTRICAL OF ELECTRICAL POWER CANAFFECT SAFETY OF FLIGHT.

The date ofmanufacture may be determined by the unit serialnumber as follows:Alternator P/ N 649304, Serial Number J a new alternator manufactured on October 8,1999 and was the eleventh (11) production unit ofthe day.

8 NEW AND REBUILT ALTERNATOREXCHANGE PRICING:For alternators manufactured prior to September 22,2000 at alternator or ENGINE overhaul, replaceexisting alternator with an alternator incorporatingstator assembly P/N 649303 revision G or H, orwith new stator/rectifier assembly P/N : Stator assembly P/N 649303, revision Gand H may be identified by either thepresence of an ultraviolet tracerincorporated into the stator windingcoating or by an over coating of reddish-brown polyurethane insulating assemblies P/N 649303revision G and H with ultraviolet tracermay be identified using an ultraviolet lightsource.

9 When the luminant radiation froman ultraviolet light source is applied to thestator windings, the windings ofstator/rectifier assemblies at revision G orH will radiate a brilliant purple hue. Statorassemblies P/N 649303, Revision H mayutilize a reddish brown polyurethaneinsulating material to coat the windingwires. All P/N 656079 stator assembliesmay be identified by the presents of areddish brown polyurethane insulatingmaterial to coat the winding wires. Statorassemblies manufactured prior to revisionG will not glow at all under ultravioletillumination and are coated withtranslucent material which, when new,shows the copper color of the has established special exchange pricing for aperiod of 24 months after the issue date of thisservice bulletin as listed Type649304A1*649305A1*New Exchange$1, $1, Exchange$ $1, *NOTE.
