2 Rating arborists were asked to rate them based on the following criteria: ce Each tree was rated, using the above criteria, in each of four FLORIDA geographic zones: north, central, south, and sub tropic. The counties comprising the four zones are shown below. COUNTIES IN EACH ZONE The north zone is made up of USDA Hardiness Zones 8a and 8b and includes the following counties: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Gadsden, Leon, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Hamilton, Suwannee, Columbia, Baker, Union, Bradford, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Dixie, Nassau, Duval, Clay, Alachua, Marion, Putnum, and Levy.

3 The central zone is made up of USDA Hardiness Zones 9a and 9b and includes the following counties: Flagler, Volusia, St. Johns, Seminole, Orange, Lake, Sumter, Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Hillsborough, Osceola, Manatee, Sarasota, Brevard, Indian River, Hardee, De Soto, Highlands, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, Beach, Hendry, and Charlotte.
