1 Versalex Installation Testing Guide November 2011 Page | 2 CLEO | Office: | Streem Fax: | | Versalex Installation Testing Guide Introduction This Guide refers to Versalex to describe both VLTrader and LexiCom. Please substitute Versalex with your specific product name (either LexiCom or VLTrader). This Guide describes the procedures to configure a 30-day test instance of Versalex with an existing serial number to try out a new version or machine, without disruption to a production environment. 2 Preparation 1. Check the Cleo Support page for the System Requirements for your Versalex product. 2. Contact Cleo Technical Support by phone (866-444-2536) or email to obtain a download link for the latest version of Versalex and a 30-day temporary key for your existing serial number. Be sure to communicate your desired operating system and if it is 32-bit or 64-bit. Install 3. Depending on your operating system, the Installation of Versalex on the new computer will be different. Windows systems: Double-click Proceed to follow the on-screen instructions. For Unix/Linux systems: At commandline issue chmod 777 to make the installer executable. Issue . i console m to invoke the installer via commandline.

Page | 3 CLEO | Office: | Streem Fax: | | For AS/400 systems: Refer to the AS/400 Setup and Installation chapter in the User Guide Summary: Double-click Proceed to follow the on-screen instructions. Install the AS/400 service module. Install the AS/400 network access module. License 4. On the new computer - close the Versalex GUI and stop the service or daemon (if running). 5. Save the file that was provided to you in the root directory where the product was installed. 6. Restart the service/daemon and launch the program. 7. Go to Tools License and verify that the product expiration says temporary.
4 Configuration Optionally you may import all or some of your configuration on your existing instance of Versalex . Page | 4 CLEO | Office: | Streem Fax: | | 8. On the existing instance of Versalex go to File Export and select the desired items to export. 9. Click the Export button and choose a directory in which to save the zip file. 10. Make the zip file available to the new test instance of Versalex . 11. On the test instance of Versalex go to File Import and select the desired items to import, allowing files to be overwritten as appropriate. 12. The configuration from your original instance will now be present on the new instance, and you can perform Testing .
