1 VICTORY AT SEA HISTORICAL Scenarios & FLEET LISTS. Included in this list are most of the ship types and names mentioned in the VICTORY at Sea Rules Mongoose Publishing, as well as those covered in their on line magazine. The Historical Scenarios list gives the correct NAVWAR model to represent the vessels present at the time of the Battle or Campaign. Ships names are often re-used, when the original ship has been sunk or scrapped and clearly it is important to have the correct model. As an example, Ark Royal was used for four different aircraft carriers in the 20th Century, all very different ships. Similarly, the German Navy had two pairs of sister ships, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau:- , one pair of armoured cruisers in the first World War and one pair of Battle- Cruisers in the Second World War. The list attempts to make it easier to decide which ship model is required.
