St Francis of Assisi was so taken by the mystery of the Incarnation that he wanted to present it anew at Greccio in the living Nativity scene, thus beginning an old, popular tradition that still retains its value for evangelization today. Indeed, the Crib can help us understand the secret of the true Christmas because it speaks of the humility and merciful goodness of Christ, who though he was rich he made himself poor for us (II Cor 8: 9). Please note and plan accordingly: With Christmas Day and New Year s Day both falling on a Saturday, there will be NO evening Mass on those days. Sunday obligation on December 26 and January 2, will be satisfied by our regular Sunday Mass schedule. Please take time to review on page 11 the annual financial report for our first year as a combined parish. The report was reviewed by the parish finance council prior to publication. The finance council receives monthly reports from our business manager of the financial status of the parish.
