Thanks to the application of advanced technology andacoustic theory, the WOODSORBA range of timberacoustic panels has been developed. These panels are easyto install and visually attractive due to the beauty of woodveneers. 2 The unique features of the wood panels give a warm organic appearance offering a finish to compliment every area. Surface choices include real wood veneers, wood print laminates and paint finished timber acoustic panels. APPLICATIONWOODSORBA panels are suitable for almost every application including use in schools, studios, reception areas, lecture theatres, office andcommercial buildings. WOODSORBA panels are exceptionally durable and abuse resistant making them particularly appropriate for areasthat may require a high degree of impact resistance such as sports and recreation halls, police interview rooms and factories and Bulletin 93 (BB93) Regulations require mandatory acoustic absorption in school teaching areas as well as hallways and stairs inresidential flats.

These are achieved by the use of appropriateWOODSORBA acoustic England requirements for noise reverberation time in sports halls are also met by fitting WOODSORBA acoustic acoustic panels consist of a finishing surface, base core board and black acoustic fleece backing. The base core board is an 18mm thick MDF sheet with a finish laminated to its front face and black acoustic fleece adhered to its rear face. WOODSORBA panels aremanufactured with a tongue and groove joint. Thanks to the precision of the tongue andgroove a perfect finish is achieved when WOODSORBA is NOMINAL SIZESL ength (mm)Width (mm)2400197 / 293 / 5811200197 / 293 / 581 DESIGN CONSIDERATIONSWOODSORBA panels cannot be supplied as curved panels however they can be indexed or steppedaround a gentle radius giving the appearance of a slow staggered curve.

The radius should be greaterthan 5m to achieve FINISHESReal wood veneers:- These acoustic panels are faced with natural wood veneers. Due to the natural characteristics of wood, wood veneercolours and grains cannot be guaranteed for consistency or wood veneers:- These acoustic panels are faced with a printed laminate paper, which imitates natural wood, but is not composed of real wood. Variations may occur between different production finish:-These acoustic panels are spray painted. There may exist some colour differences between the panels on the same batchproduction due to the supply of paint. 7 (Insulation tested above is 50mm thick, 50kg/m3density. A small difference in density (eg. +/- 10kg/m3) will not make a difference in the overall absorption).IMPACTWOODSORBA panels are widely used in sportshalls due to its excellent impact resistance anddurability. WOODSORBA has been tested against ballthrowing according to European DIN standards forsports halls for gymnastics and games andmultipurpose SAFETYWOODSORBA standard panels meet BS476 Class3 fire rating. However Class 1 fire rated panels canbe supplied on Class O fire rating can be achieved for realwood veneered panels. Real wood veneeredpanels (but not the laminate or the paintedfinishes) can be treated on site by others withproprietary intumescent varnish onto un-lacqueredsurface.

It is important that if you need toupgrade the fire rating to Class O by applying theintumescent varnish then please advise us at theorder stage so that we can omit the lacquer finishto allow the intumescent varnish to soak into thewood veneer face when it is applied on panel weight: 10 panels are easy to maintain. The panels can be cleaned with non-abrasive cleaners, which are suitable for wood PATTERNST here are two standard face patterns for WOODSORBA . One pattern is made up of a series of slats and the other pattern is madeup of a series of round holes. Other face patternsare available upon request. Each panel has a machined tongue down one long edgeand a machined groove down the other long edge.

Each end is square WOODSORBA Jan15__ 03/02/2015 12:07 Page 4 INSTALLATIONWOODSORBA Wood Veneered Acoustic PanelsINSTALLATION GUIDEWOODSORBA is a natural wood product. When acousticpanels are stored in places where they will not be used forimmediate installation, they must be sealed in airproof and moisture proof condition at room temperature as wood basedmaterials are susceptible to moisture. WOODSORBA panels are installation friendly. They haveone long edge, which has a machined tongue, and the otherlong edge has a machined groove. The panels are fitted by mating the tongued edge to the grooved edge resulting in aseamless run of installation of acoustic panels should be carried out in asequence from the left to the right, from upside to downside.

Thepanels are cut to fit on site. Traditional woodworking toolsare suitable for cutting the panels. If panels are cut using a finetooth table saw the panels should be cut face up to avoid scratchingand at a much slower speed to avoid any tear-out or black acoustic fleece is laminated to the rear face of the panels. It is recommended to paint the backgrounds at the points wherethe panels join to avoid any potential light panels are fixed using nails, staples or screws via the tongueand groove joint on to pre-installed timber battens (normally 50 x 50mm) on the walls. The timber battens should be spacedno more than 300mm recommend a test installation to be carried out to ensurethat everything is satisfactory before proceeding with the full should only be handled wearing clean, lightweight white gloves during installation to avoid soiling the FixingGUIDE WOODSORBA panels should be installed inaccordance with the manufacturers necessary hardware and accessories for a complete job installation are to be furnished by the of panels should not begin until all wet work, such as plastering, concrete etc.
