(Lk 2:11) Merry Christmas! We need to MAKE CHRISTMAS HAPPEN! Today we rejoice in the birth of the Christ Child, and we need to take him to the world. Christmas is not so much a manger scene, but a lived manger. We need to bring the greatest miracle on earth alive through our words and actions. We need to make Christmas happen.

7 How? Make Christmas happen by being a person of prayer. Make Christmas happen by going to Mass. Make Christmas happen by telling others about the Christ Child. Make Christmas happen by trusting in God. Make Christmas happen through your generosity. Make Christmas happen by spending time with your families. Make Christmas happen by reconciling with a loved one. Make Christmas happen by getting out of bed in the morning with enthusiasm. Make Christmas happen by bringing excitement to your job. Make Christmas happen by complimenting others. Make Christmas happen by attending Mass at our four churches, remembering to say hello. Make Christmas happen by being thankful.

8 Make Christmas happen by helping the poor and the needy. Make Christmas happen by taking on new challenges. Make Christmas happen by taking care of yourself. Make Christmas happen through your joy. Please remember that we need to make Christmas happen throughout the year, not just a day. We will do that by realizing that Christmas is not a day but an encounter. If we encounter the Christ Child, then we will be compelled to make Christmas happen every day. It is only through his love and his grace that we will make Christmas happen every day. Terry A long-standing tradition in the diocese on Christmas Day is to have a second collection for Christmas Charities for Children and Youth. The proceeds support several programs in our diocese which serve many children and young people. Please be as generous as possible. I would like to thank all those who took part in our giving trees and various charitable activities. You made Christmas happen! May God reward you for your kindness. 10 I hope that you can come to as many celebrations as possible! We recently upgraded our livestreaming equipment at St. Angela. We have been receiving positive feedback. We will be trying a different camera in the next couple of weeks, with the hopes that this will improve the picture quality. I thank all of you for making the upgrades possible.
