Partisan units are guerrilla fighters in occupied territories. During World War II, partisans risked their lives by organizing secret resistance to Nazi control. They attacked German-held railroads, bridges, and military installations. They also organized efforts to assassinate Nazi collaborators (local people who were helping the Germans).
