82 FINE HOMEBUILDINGA Simple Approach toRaised-PanelAUGUST/SEPTEMBER 200483 Drawings: Bob La Pointeaised-panel Wainscot speaks of a time whencraftsmen had an abundance of skill and thetime to display their talents. But building tra-ditional Raised-Panel Wainscot is a complex,time-consuming process that few people can afford. I vesimplified the process. I can build good-looking Raised-Panel Wainscot in place using basic carpentry tools and arouter table. The 12-ft. by 18-ft. room pictured here tookme three days to the materials I use to make Raised-Panel Wainscot arereadily available. The bolection molding that bridges thegap between the Wainscot frame and the raised panel isa stock molding from White River Hardwoods/Wood-works Inc. ( ; 800-558-0119).
