127 CHAPTER 6 research design and methodology INTRODUCTION Parker (2002:400), on defining the future, said: There is always a sense of wonder or awe when one attempts to define the future but there are also practical reasons for looking ahead, and the IFAC (1994:3) commented that [t]hose who do not anticipate the future may never experience it.
