Fault Zone Analysis insulation Presented by: David Almand at the 2004 Motor Reliability Technical Conference Company: PdMA Corporation Department: Training & Technical Support INTRODUCTION The importance of sound electrical insulation systems has been acknowledged from the early days of electricity. As the years passed and the electrical industry expanded, the need for improved electrical insulation system testing became even more significant. The designs and applications of electrical equipment are almost infinite in their variety, but all units have one common characteristic. For electrical equipment to operate properly, one of the most important characteristics is that the flow of electricity takes place along well-defined paths or circuits.
