Credit Files, Grading and provisioning This notice is issued pursuant to section 55 of the Banking Act (Cap. 19) and applies to all banks in Singapore. 2 Definitions The expressions used in this Notice shall, except where expressly defined in this Notice or where the context otherwise requires, have the same meanings as in the Act. 3 Credit Files Every bank in Singapore shall maintain credit files whether in electronic, print or other form, on all its borrowers which shall contain adequate and timely information on the credit-worthiness of the borrowers: (a) to enable the proper and effective monitoring of credit facilities extended by the bank; and (b) to enable examiners from the Authority, as well as the bank s internal
