Poverty in Sri Lanka (Based on Household Income and Expenditure Survey - 2006/07) Department of Census and Statistics Ministry of Finance and Planning Sri Lanka Acknowledgement Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2006/07 was conducted by the Department of Census and Statistics under the National Household Sample survey Programme. This survey is the sixth in the series of Income and Expenditure Surveys conducted once in five years period since 1980. Data collection of this survey was conducted in twelve monthly rounds from July 2006 to June 2007 and the survey was conducted in all the districts in Sri Lanka , excluding the districts in the Northern Province and Trincomalee district.
