Figure 1 shows thedevice schematic, transfercharacteristics and devicesymbol for a MOSFET . Theinvention of the powerMOSFET was partly driven bythe limitations of bipolar powerjunction transistors (BJTs)which, until recently, was thedevice of choice in powerelectronics applications.
