127 B Public-sector infrastructure update Introduction This annexure provides an update on the status of government s major infrastructure projects. It reports on planned Public-sector infrastructure spending, and presents a table of major projects under way or in preparation. In line with the medium-term strategic framework (MTSF) and the National Development Plan, the 2016 Budget prioritises spending on social and economic infrastructure such as schools, health facilities, roads and transport, energy, and water and sanitation. It also continues to fund programmes to improve the quality of infrastructure spending and the capacity of government to plan and implement capital projects.
