Recent reports, such as Insights, Aspirations and Action Investing in Asset Building for San Antonio Families (commissioned by Asset Funders Network), STATUS of Women on Poverty (commissioned by the Mayor s Commission on the STATUS of Women), American Community Survey data, Urban Institute data and presentations completed by Dr. Christine Drennon and others, point to the fact that San Antonio is also marked by high economic inequality, racial disparities, and residential segregation.
6 According to the latest American Community Survey (ACS) data released by the U.S. Census Bureau, the 2018 poverty rate (based on the 5-year estimate methodology) for the city of San Antonio was 18.6%.
