Session summary September 20, 2016 Session Meeting Following are highlights of the September 20, 2016 Session Meeting. After dinner and fellowship with the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees, Pastor Ray called everyone together in prayer and in reading responsively1 Chronicles 29:10-17. The elders, deacons, and trustees then came forward to present their 2017 pledges. Each Board was then dismissed to proceed with their individual meetings. Devotion and Prayer as a Session Elder Jodi Norman began with a devotion based on the book Simple Church by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger. The devotion, Becoming Focused is part of a yearlong study of the Bible passages mentioned in the book.
Simple Church Assignment for Ministry Teams and Councils: Pastor Ray reminded the elders that reports will be due for the October 25 th Session Meeting regarding the simple church process as it relates to our councils and ministry teams.
