Conducting a Needs Assessment
The Department of Health & Human Services has mandated a transition by the U.S. health care industry from the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) ninth revision ICD-9-CM (contains diagnosis and procedure codes) to ICD-10-CM (diagnoses) and ICD-10-PCS (procedures) code sets on October 1, 2014 for morbidity data.
