PREVENTION
State-sponsored efforts support health screening programs, anti-smoking campaigns, and health education. As partners with federal agencies, states assist in implementation of programs such as the CDC’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and the CDC’s National Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program. Figure 1.
