Galvanizing Issues One of the more common applications for seal welds is in assemblies that are required to be hot dip galvanized (Figure 6). The American Galvanizers Association (AGA) defines three classes for welded assemblies that will be galvanized. Class 1 Joints are held together by a full seal weld.
