and the apparent power vector is theta. The cosine of angle theta is equal to the power factor, as identified in equation 3. Often, electrical equipment manufacturers will identify the power factor by cos (theta), rather than PF. Thus, when an inverter is operating loads with power factors less than 1, the inverter capacity is effectively reduced.
