Debertin is Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky , Lexington, Kentucky and has been on the University of Kentucky Agricultural Economics faculty since 1974 with a specialization in Agricultural Production and community resource Economics . The first edition of Agricultural Production Economics was published in hardback by Macmillan in 1986. He began work on the second edition of the book after the Macmillan edition went out of print in 1992, taking advantage of emerging two-and three-dimensional computer graphics technologies by linking these to the calculus of the modern theory of Production Economics . The book has been edited and revised each year since 1992.
