Blood Cell Identification The segmented neutrophil is the predominant blood leukocyte. It has a similar size to a band neutrophil (ie, 10 to 15 μm in diameter), as well as comparable shape (round to oval), and cytoplasmic appearance (pale pink cytoplasm with specific granules). The N:C ratio is 1:3 and the nuclear chromatin is highly condensed.
