This moduleis shipped in static-shielded packaging to guard against electrostaticdischarge damage. Observe the following precautions when handlingthis Discharge Damage!
2 ATTENTION: Electrostatic discharge can damage integrated circuits or semiconductors if you touchbackplane connector pins. Follow these guidelineswhen you handle the module : Touch a grounded object to discharge static potential Wear an approved wrist-strap grounding device Do not touch the backplane connector orconnector pins Do not touch circuit components inside the module If available, use a static-safe work station When not in use, keep the module in its originalstatic-shielded packagingInstallation InstructionsContentsPrevent ElectrostaticDischarge DC (10-30V) Input Module2 Publication April 1999!ATTENTION: This module is equipped with a plasticcover that is unique to assembly numbers 960364-05and 961344-01. (This part number is located near thebackplane edge connector pins on the component-sideof the circuit board.)
3 Do not use this plastic cover onany other 1771-IBD Series B module is compatible with all chassis except1771-A1, 1771-A2, 1771-A4 chassis. Make sure no other inputmodule or single card block transfer module is placed in the samemodule group when using 2-slot addressing. Any discrete outputmodule may be used within the same module 1771-IBD Series B module has a selectable off-delay filter timeof either 1ms or 6ms. To select the off-delay filter time, use theprocedure on page this product has the CE mark it is approved for Installation withinthe European Union and EEA regions. It has been designed andtested to meet the following DirectiveThis product is tested to meet Council Directive 89/336/EECE lectromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and the following standards,in whole or in part, documented in a technical construction file: EN 50081-2 EMC Generic Emission Standard, Part 2 Industrial Environment EN 50082-2 EMC Generic Immunity Standard, Part 2 Industrial EnvironmentThis product is intended for use in an industrial Voltage DirectiveThis product is tested to meet Council Directive 73/23/EECLow Voltage, by applying the safety requirements of EN 61131 2 Programmable Controllers, Part 2 Equipment Requirements specific information required by EN 61131-2, see the appropriatesections in this publication, as well as these Allen-Bradleypublications.

The module requires130mA from the output of this supply. To calculate the requirementsfor the backplane power supply, add 130mA to the powerrequirements of all other modules in the I/O chassis. Calculating therequirements will prevent an overload to the chassis backplaneand/or backplane power off delay filter time is preset to 1ms.

Failure to remove power from the backplane or wir-ing arm could cause module damage, degradation ofperformance, or injury. Failure to remove power from the backplane couldcause injury or equipment damage due to possibleunexpected the chassis locking bar down into place to securethe modules.
