A (1000)GENERALThis instruction covers the physical INSTALLATION of the follow-ing electric heaters with F2RP/ F2RC / F2FP /F2FC singlepiece air handlers and N1AH/N1VS modular air to unit INSTRUCTIONS for electrical specifications. THE ELECTRIC HEAT ACCESSORIES ARE USED FORAPPLICATIONS OF COOLING WITH ELECTRIC HEATAND HEAT PUMP WITH ELECTRIC HEAT. EACH OF THEAIR HANDLER UNIT MODELS ARE APPROVED FOR USEWITH SPECIFIC ELECTRIC HEAT ACCESSORIES.

2 THE" INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS " LISTS THE POSSIBLECOMBINATIONS AND OTHER IMPORTANT ELECTRICALDATA AND LIMITATIONS. INSTALLATIONI nstallation is the same for all operating positions. Installationof heater should be done prior to unit air handler unit blower access panel. See electric heat : Knockouts on the F2FP048,060 / N1 AHC16,N1 AHD20 and N1 VSC16, D20 blower electric heat mountingpanel must be removed to install 20 KW heaters and to Figure 2. holes and fasten the ACCESSORY to the air handler unit with 4 or 6 screws supplied in the 208/230 volt heaters: Connect the male halves of the 4 and 6 pin socket connector to the appropriate con-nectors on the control board.

3 The end terminals are D shaped to insure polarization of the 460 volt heaters: Connect the male half of the 6 pin connector to the appropriate connector on the control board. Connect the female half of the heater 2 pin socket to the male half of the connector in the unit. A (1000))2 Unitary Products kits with circuit breaker installed, remove the appro-pri-ate openings in the plastic breaker : Use lower opening for kits with one an X in the appropriate box on the indoor unit data-plate for the particular heater : The electric heaters have a temperature limit failure occurs, this limit control must be replacedwith a direct replacement.

5 NOTE: All wiring must comply with local and national electri-cal code requirements. Read and heed all unit caution POWER CONNECTIONSP ower may be brought into the unit through the supply airend of the unit (top left when unit is vertical) or the left the hole appropriate to the unit s orientation in eachinstallation to bring conduit from the disconnect. 6 The air handlers are shippedprewired to operate as cooling only applications. To operate these units with electric heat, it is necessary tofield install an electric heater kit (2HK). Prior to installingelectric heat, it is necessary to perform the following the 4-pin power plug from the control board. (See Fig. 10).Note: This pin must not be used when electric heaters the five (5) screws from the duct cover and remove the duct cover from the air VOLTAGE CONTROL CONNECTIONSThe 24 volt power supply is provided by an internally wiredlow voltage transformer which is standard on all supplied low voltage wiring can exit the unit on the topright hand corner or the right hand side the 7/8" plastic bushing supplied with the unit in theselected hole and keep low voltage wiring as short as possi-ble inside the control field wiring is to be connected at the screw terminals ofthe control.

7 All wiring must comply with local and national electri-cal code requirements. Read and heed all unit caution : It is possible to vary the amount of electric heatturned on during the defrost cycle of a heat pump. Standardwiring will only bring on 5 - 10 KW of electric heat duringdefrost, depending on the size of the heater.
