CHAPTER 30 ELEVATORS AND CONVEYING SYSTEMS SECTION 3001 GENERAL 3001.1 Scope. This chapter governs the design, construction, installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of elevators and conveying systems and their components.

5 (e) An inclined stairway chairlift, which is a device used totransport physically handicapped persons over architecturalbarriers.(f) An inclined or vertical wheelchair lift, which is a deviceused to transport wheelchair handicapped persons overarchitectural hoists and material hoists within thescope of ASME lifts within the scope of ASME scaffolds, towers, and platforms withinthe scope of ANSI platforms and equipment for exteriorand interior maintenance within the scope ofASME and related equipment within thescope of ASME , derricks, hoists, hooks, jacks and slingswithin the scope of ASME trucks within the scope of ASME equipment.
