2.2 Suspected COPD with normal spirometry Some individuals may have symptoms typical of COPD but have normal spirometry. Some of these individuals may have CT scan evidence of emphysema. While a formal diagnosis of COPD cannot be applied to these individuals, careful follow up for the subsequent development of airflow obstruction is needed.
