The event is being cosponsored by ASM International, NACEI nternational and the Nickel Development Fourth International Smposium on Superalloys 718, 625, 706 and VariousDerivatives follows in the tradition of the three predecessors.
2 The initial one onSuperalloy 718 was held in 1989 and was devoted solely to this unique alloy. Thesecond Symposium, held in 1991, extended the scope to include alloy 625 , fromwhich Alloy 718 was derived, along with their modifications. The third Sympo-sium, held in 1994, added Alloy 706, a natural derivative of Alloy 718, which hasgained increasing application in land-based gas turbines for the generation ofelectric Symposium covers all aspects of the development, production, behavior anduse of these most important superalloys. It is indeed noteworthy that so muchinterest and activity continues on these superalloys which have been in existenceand usage for many years. There are 92 papers which were accepted for thisprogram with nearly a third of the papers coming from overseas.
3 Together with itspredecessors, the Symposium volume reviews worldwide developments on thetheory, technology and application of Superalloys 718, 625, and RegistrationRegistration fee includes admission to all technical sessions, the WelcomingReception, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday luncheons, coffee breaks and a boundcopy of the symposium proceedings will be held beginning Sunday and continuethrough Wednesday in the Atrium Area during the following hours:Sunday, June .4:00 PM-7:00 PMMonday, June . 7:00 AM-5:00 PMTuesday, June ..7:00 AM-5:00 PMWednesday, June .7:00 AM-1:00 PMTechnical SessionsThe Fourth International special Emphasis Symposium on Superalloy 718, 625, 706and Derivatives will commence on Sunday, June 15, 1997.
