This sealemploys a similar seal ring as the standard ET and EWT,but with the addition of an anti-extrusion ring, backupring, and retaining Service ET-C andEWT-CThe ET-C and EWT-C are designed to provide throttlingor on off control of liquids and gases at cryogenictemperatures as low as 198_C ( 325_F). These valvesare identical to the standard ET and EWT, but with afew differences, which allow the valve to tolerate thevery low temperatures. See tables 4 and 7 fortemperature limits and figure 5. These differencesinclude:n Style 3 Extension Bonnetn Bolted In Seat Ringn Cryogenic Plug SealThe style 3 extension bonnet is different from the style1 in that it is designed to locate the temperaturesensitive packing parts further away from the valvebody, preventing them from being exposed totemperature extremes.

9 The bolted in seat ring issimilar to that used with the ED or EWD valve andaccommodates the unavoidable material shrinkagethat occurs at cryogenic temperatures, which wouldotherwise loosen the ET or EWT s standard threaded inseat ring. The cryogenic plug seal is used in place ofthe standard ET or EWT plug seal ring. The maximumvalve shutoff that can be attained at these cryogenictemperatures with the cryogenic seal is Class SealThe Bore Seal is available for the ED and EWD only andis required for Class V shutoff applications where theservice temperature exceeds 316_C (600_F). Forservice temperatures below 316_C (600_F) the ET orEWT should be used when Class V shutoff is tables 4, 7, and 8 for temperature limits and figure Bore Seal employs a metal C shaped seal ring thatis secured to the outside diameter of the valve the valve plug comes into contact with the seatring, to close the valve, the Bore Seal is compressedagainst the cage wall thereby blocking a secondaryleakage path that exists between the plug and cagewall.
