A furtherassurance that only the highest possiblestandards of quality are phase motorsSingle phase motors are used primarily insmall workshops and farms with a domesticsupply. Some industrial equipment arespecifically designed for use with a singlephase electricity supply, such as fans, blowers, centrifugal pumps and highpressure washersEfficiencyBrook Crompton are an approvedmanufacturer of ac electric motors within theUK Government s Enhanced CapitalAllowance (ECA) scheme. A wide range ofsingle and multi-speed motors are includedon the UK Energy Technology List.

Suitable for fans, blowers andcentrifugal pump drives with light startingrequirements. Starting torque is between25% and 55% of full load torque, accordingto frame size. Clockwise or anticlockwiserotation of the shaft available by re-connection. High torque design:Direct-on-line starting, with any spot voltage between 200-250 voltsavailable. Suitable for fans, blowers, centrifugal pumps and compressorsrequiring a higher starting torque. Startingtorque is between 70% and 80% of full loaddependent on frame size.
Variable voltage speed control: For use onvariable voltage (thyristor) speed for fan applications. Outputs andframes sizes are detailed on page start - EDA/TDAA vailable in either Capacitor Start/InductionRun design (EDA) or CapacitorStart/Capacitor Run design (TDA). Direct-on-line starting with any spot voltage between200-500 volts available. High startingperformances suitable for industrial andagricultural applications of a more demandingnature. Starting torque is between 160% and300% of full load torque according to framesize.
Clockwise or anticlockwise rotation ofthe shaft available by pressure washer - TDAD irect-on-line starting only. Motors aredesigned with starting characteristics to suitoperation from single phase socket outletseven when delivering Motors arespecifically designed to start under the worstpossible conditions, against full backpressure (a condition which should not occurbut often does). 110 volt versions are available with a standard shaftextension or with a female hollow shaft, having one bearing at the non drive standard enclosure is designed to giveIP55 protection against the harmful ingress ofdust and and temperature riseAll motors are wound with Class F (Dupont)insulation (temperature limit 145 C).
Insulationmaterials include NOMEX meta-aramid paperand MYLAR polyester film. Temperature riseis normally Class B, where Class F rise isutilised, the individual frame sizes are detailedon pages 5-9.( NOMEX and MYLAR areregistered trade marks of Du Pont.)Site conditionsMotors will operate satisfactorily inan ambient temperature range of -10 C to+40 C and at altitudes of up to 1000 metresabove sea shafts are machined to IEC72 (BS4999 Part 141) (see dimensions on pages 10/12).For ease of fitting, removal or securingfitments, a tapped hole in the drive end isprovided as standard on all motor motors are dynamically balanced toIEC34-14 (BS4999 Part 142)
