GEOMETRIC DESIGN CIVL 3161 - Memphis
Stopping Sight Distance in Horizontal Curve Design It is necessary to consider provision of safe stopping sight distance in the design of horizontal curves, as well. If a vehicle is traveling along a horizontal curve, and an object is located on the inside edge of a roadway, it may obstruct a driver’s view, resulting in reduced sight distance.
