Relevant cost indices with reference to base 100 shall continue to be applicable on these plinth area rates for works in progress , the need for issuing fresh plinth area rates has been felt for quite some time to account for risein prices in the last 15 years, and also to account for revised specifications for Type-I, to type - VI Qrs;approved by MOUD and issued subsequently by DG(W) vide circular No. 62/SE (S&S)/EE-I/AE-II/PAR/05-06/01 dated it is proposed to bring out new Plinth area rates as on incorporating revised specificationsfor Type-I, to type - VI Qrs; as issued by DG(W) vide circular No.

4 62/SE (S&S)/EE-I/AE-II/PAR/05-06/01dated The specification for Non residential buildings have been updated and , fresh plinth area rates with reference to base 100 as on has been prepared forcirculation in the department. In future, the preliminary estimates may be prepared on the basis of theseplinth area the rates are based on data of actual expenditure for structures completed recently, as received fromvarious field formations.
