3 If washing with thebattery removed from the radio, ensure that thebattery is not immersed in water & that the accessorycap is attached & clean only with a damp Entel HT644 is a professional marine handheld transceiver that operates on the VHF marine HT644 has 58 marine international channels, 10 weather & 36 dealer programmable private channels. The 58 marine channels are switchable to comply with USA, International or Canadianregulations. This is done via the radio s keypad. It has an emergency channel, which can be immediatelyselected from any channel using the red 16/9 button. Weather channels can also be accessed immediatelyusing the [WX] key. The HT644 includes the following features: Scan, A/B quick access channels, batterylife indicator, VOX (voice activated transmit), low battery indicator, large LCD with back light. 4 Pleasereturn to yoursupplier forinspection Your Radio For Use4 Preparing56ab---Attaching / Removing the Belt Clip 5To attach, slot the clip onto the slot on theb ack of the battery and slide up until youhear a click 6To remove, pull the tab towards the beltclip (a). Then slide the belt clipdownwards (b)Attaching / Removing the Aerial 1To attach, carefully align the aerial with thesocket. Screw in the aerial clockwise (takingcare not to cross the thread) until it is seatedfirmly with the accessory cover s rubber ringbetween the aerial & the the top of the radio. 2To remove, unscrew the aerial / Removing Audio Accessories 3To attach, remove the accessory cover by unscrewing thelocking screw anti-clockwise (leave cover secured underantenna as this provides a waterproof seal). Attach accessoryplug by locating over the socket. Carefully tighten the lockingscrew clockwise until finger tight (do not tighten with ascrewdriver etc).
5 4To remove, unscrew accessory plug the locking screw byhand in an anti-clockwise direction (carefully use a coin orscrewdriver if too tight). Ensure you re-fit the accessorywaterproof cover so as to protect the accessory Entel radio is supplied with a highperformance Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery. Thesebatteries: Extend talk time Reduce the battery s size and weight Do not suffer from memory effect thatreduces the life of Ni-Cad and NiMHbatteries Have a low toxicity, therefore reducing theimpact on the environmentBattery Pack If a battery is not used for an extendedperiod of time ( several months) youmust: Charge the battery to about 50% of itsnormal capacity(a 3 hour charge from flat). Remove the battery from the radios andstore in a cool and dry location (at around0 C). Re-charge the battery to 50% capacityatleast every 6 months whilst in storage.
6 In normal use each charge cycle reduces thebattery s life. Minimise the number of timesyou charge your battery especially in hotterenvironments which further shortens abattery s Care / InformationBattery Pack Precautions Switch the transceiver OFF beforecharging Charge the battery pack before use Do not recharge the battery pack if it isalready fully charged. Charge the battery in accordance with theinstructions enclosed with your charger Do not charge the transceiver and /orbattery pack if they are battery pack includes potentiallyhazardous components. Please: Do Not disassemble or reconstructbattery Do Not short-circuit the battery Do Not incinerate or apply heat to thebattery Do Not immerse the battery in waterunless attached securely to the radio orget it wet by other means Use only the specified charger andobserve charging requirements Do Not pierce the battery with anyobject or strike it with an instrument Do Not use the battery pack if it isdamaged in any way Do Not reverse-charge or reverse-connect the battery Do Not touch a ruptured or liquids from the battery get into your eyes,immediately: Wash your eyes out with fresh water &avoiding rubbing them.
7 Seek medical treatment. BatteryBattery Charging1. Connect the AC adapter to the chargerpod. The LED status light will illuminategreen indicating ready for charge2. Turn the transceiver off3. Insert the battery pack into the chargerpod, either with or without thetransceiver attached. The LED status lightchanges from green to RED & tricklecharge begins4. A fully discharged battery pack will takeapproximately 6 hours to charge,depending on the remaining powercondition. When charge is complete, theLED status light turns :The battery pack has an over-currentprotection circuit fitted. When charging acompletely discharged battery first charge,ensure the battery is removed from the radioand then re-attached (if fitted to radio whencharging). This will reset the protectioncircuitry and ensure normal operation. Thisprocess will need to be repeated if the batteryis allowed to completely discharge in thefuture.

Customer satisfaction is assured as youcan not be supplied with sub standard,potentially dangerous battery packs from 3rdparty manufacturers, ensuring it delivers theexpected capacity and HT series batteries a breathablemembrane is used. This is clearly marked onthe battery label. Piercing the membrane willallow water ingress to the battery, & willinvalidate the / Removing the Battery Pack1To attach, locate the pegs on the bottom of thebattery into the slots on the radio and press thetop of the battery against the radio. Securebattery by tightening the screw clockwise byhand.
