4 Immaculate Conception Church TWENTY-FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 Dear Parishioner, Stewardship: A Way of Life Where your treasure is, there also your heart will be. Mt 6:21 This weekend we continue our focus on stewardship, particularly the sharing of our treasure. One of the well known facts that we have discovered in our ministry at IC is that our parishioners are generous givers who give from the heart. This is obvious in your contributions in the offertory that regularly meet and exceed budget and the many other ways you contribute to the good of others. Your generosity enables IC to provide a beautiful place of worship and prayer, and other facilities for helping us on our journey of faith.
5 It enables our parish and school to provide the staffing and resources we need to be a place of mercy and understanding, healing and hope, education and enrichment, welcome and hospitality that continue the gift of faith. And your goodness and generosity extends beyond our parish family, feeding the hungry and caring for the poor in our local community, fostering vocations and caring for retired priests in the Archdiocese, and helping our sister parish of El Chan II in Guatemala with the basic necessities of life and building a place of faith for their parish family. Yes, it is obvious that IC parishioners are generous and that the benefits of your giving are amazing.
6 We will hear more about that from our youth this weekend. If you have not had the chance to review the Stewardship report in last weekend s bulletin, please do so. The Stewardship report highlights a few of the ways your stewardship dollars are making a difference. Additional copies are available in Church or at the parish office. We are proud of the many ways you give from the heart for the good of others and we are grateful for your generosity. May the Lord help us to continue using wisely the gifts entrusted to us so that our hearts may always be close to the Lord. Fr.
