1 Integrating gender into UNHCR statistics Petra Nahmias United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Abstract This short presentation will discuss the integration of a gender perspective into UNHCR s statistics . The first part of the presentation will look at UNHCR official statistics on populations of concerns and the extent and coverage of gender disaggregation. The discussion of gender -disaggregated data can be explored in more detail in global trends ( ) The second part of the presentation will examine how a gender perspective is incorporated into applied statistical methods in the field, operational data ( ) and emergency information management ( ). The challenges and barriers, as well as opportunities and successes, will be discussed at the session.
