- IN COOPERATION WITH CHEMSULTANTS INTERNATIONALPRESSURE- sensitive ADHESIVES WORKSHOPINTRODUCTION TO2018 MARCH 19 - 20 | AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDSCLICK HERE TO REGISTERWORKSHOP SPONSORThe INTRODUCTION to PRESSURE-SENSITIVE Adhesive Workshop is designed to introduce participants to the basics of PSA products, including their design, manufacture and end-use. The target audience are professionals involved with marketing, research, technical support, quality control and production, they may be new to the PSA industry, or those professionals needing a primer on the technical aspects of PSA products. To support understanding of the market and the technical background for self-adhesives, a broad range of topics from market trends to why pressure -sensitives work will be covered.

This introductory workshop explains many topics to a basic level of understanding, making it ideal for participants new to the PRESSURE-SENSITIVE adhesive world. The program includes the topics to be covered along with a description of the content of each one. Furthermore, a glossary of terms will be reviewed during the course to help participants understand the language of this industry. This workshop provides the essential knowledge and information in design, manufacture, testing and end-use performance of the pressure -sensitives used in the tape and label industry. The market for PRESSURE-SENSITIVE adhesive products has become extremely competitive and continues to be driven from the demand-side by brand owners, OEM s, producers of products utilizing PSA technology, and retail channels, who are leveraging their purchasing power, and often substituting alternative technologies depending on cost, product positioning, environmental issues, and marketing or production objectives.

The PRESSURE-SENSITIVE industry has evolved over the years to become highly developed, diversified, and competitive. In less than 70 years, the PSA industry, driven by label, tape, and industrial applications has developed and matured and is today served by hundreds of supplier companies and thousands of converter companies worldwide. COREY REARDON PRESIDENT & CEO AWA ALEXANDER WATSON ASSOCIATESMEDIA PARTNERS DAY 1 - 19 MARCHWORKSHOP PROGRAMREGISTRATION & WELCOME COFFEE WORKSHOP OPENING & WELCOME CHEMSULTANTS INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OVERVIEW Description of Chemsultants capabilities in testing equipment, product development, physical and analytical testing, problem solving, training and education, pilot coating and contract manufacturing.

SELF-ADHESIVE MARKET AWA presentation on recent trends in the Self-Adhesive market, with respect to products, market drivers and raw materials by region and for the worldwide market. COFFEE & NETWORKING BREAKWHAT MAKES SELF ADHESIVES WORK?Covers the chemical and mechanical properties of self- adhesives (also known as PRESSURE-SENSITIVE adhesives) and why these are important in gaining and maintaining their unique properties that allow adhesion to surfaces. The basics of adhesion, polymer properties and how they allow PRESSURE-SENSITIVE adhesive materials to work is discussed. TYPES OF SELF-ADHESIVE PRODUCTSThis section goes over the various types of PRESSURE-SENSITIVE adhesive products, components used to make them, their end-uses and markets they OF ADHESIVESC overs the different adhesive classifications (permanent, removable, etc.)

, their polymer base (rubber, acrylic, etc.), applications where they are used and how they are provided to the manufacturer (solvent based, 100% solids, etc.)SOLVENT ADHESIVE COMPOUNDING This section reviews the basic formulation and compounding of solvent based adhesives including natural rubber, synthetic rubber, acrylics and & NETWORKING BREAKHOT MELT ADHESIVE COMPOUNDING Basics on hot melt adhesives, components used, formulation and compounding. Focus is primarily on styrenic block copolymer (SBC) BASED ADHESIVE COMPOUNDING Basic formulation and compounding of water based systems, including synthetic rubber, acrylics and natural rubber.
