5 H[ 9$0 723 1$ VAM Family Special Bevel (SB)Couplings can be supplied with a special bevel option. The special bevel isrecommended when running multiple strings in the same casing, or whenthere is a risk of a coupling hanging up down hole. The special bevel option reduces the maximum load that can be carried onthe coupling face. For this reason slip type elevators may be required. Themaximium load that can be carried on the coupling face is never less than3 joints. The exact value can be obtained by emailing Mr default value of the special bevel is an angle of 20 . Alternate anglescan be supplied on considering SB option, the following notation is used: VAM XXX SBa (a = angle of the bevel) ex: VAM 21 SB10 VAM XXX SB (in case of 20 degree Special Bevel on the coupling) Special Clearance (SC)A Special Clearance connection is a VAM connection with a reducedcoupling With a special clearance coupling, the tensile rating isreduced.]

6 A special clearance coupling is identified by a 1 inch wide blackpaint band located at the center of the coupling. 7 These optional couplings may have anexternal diameter larger or smaller than a regular one. All VAM TOP andVAM 21 connections are Matched Strength by default. DINO VAM connections can be Matched Strength by Strength in BIG OMEGA stands for matched/adapted IPR, notfor tensile Isolated VAM ProductsAn Isolated Product is a VAM connection designed for a specific customerapplication or potential needs whereby products belonging to the standardproduct line could not cover. As such, Isolated products still require the needfor full traceability with respect to the VAM family of companies, the licenseenetwork and for the customer. An Isolated Product is differentiated from standard products by the specificnotation VVAM XXX-Kn (example VAM TOP-KP)or VVAM XXX-Nn(example VAM TOP-NA).
