4 HEALTH EFFECTS - SKIN Prolonged and repeated contact may cause mild irritation. HEALTH EFFECTS - INGESTION Ingestion of large amounts of chlorinated paraffins may cause intestinal obstruction. Repeated exposure to high levels may result in liver or kidney damage. HEALTH EFFECTS - INHALATION Not volatile at room temperature. Inhalation is not a likely route of exposure at normally encountered temperatures. ADDITIONAL MEDICAL INFORMATION CARCINOGENICITY There is sufficient evidence for the carcinogenicity of a commercial chlorinated paraffin product of average carbon-chain length C12 and average degree of chlorination 60% in experimental animals. There is limited evidence for the carcinogenicity of a commercial chlorinated paraffin product of average carbon-chain length C23 and average degree of chlorination 43% in experimental animals.

5 No data were available from studies in humans on the carcinogenicity of chlorinated paraffins. Overall evaluation: Chlorinated paraffins of average carbon-chain length C12 and average degree of chlorination approximately 60% are possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B). This product is a C14-C17 chlorinated paraffin, medium chain product. MUTAGENICITY Studies for mutagenicity were negative. TERATOGENICITY AND EMBRYOTOXICITY No information is available. REPRODUCTIVE HAZARDS No information is available. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES PRODUCT IN EYE Immediately flush eyes thoroughly for at least 10 minutes with running water. Hold eyelids open during flushing. If irritation persists, repeat flushing and obtain medical attention immediately.

If irritation persists, obtain medical advice immediately. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. PRODUCT INGESTED If victim is alert and not convulsing, give 1 glass of water to dilute MATERIAL . DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If spontaneous vomiting occurs, have victim lean forward with head down to avoid breathing in of vomitus, rinse mouth and administer more water. Obtain medical attention immediately. PRODUCT INHALED Move victim to fresh air. Give artificial respiration ONLY if breathing has stopped.

7 Give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if there is no breathing and no pulse. Obtain medical advice immediately. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD Slightly fire hazard. EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Use regular dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water, and regular foam. For large fires use regular foam or flood with fine water spray. SPECIAL HAZARDS During a fire in which this MATERIAL is involved, hydrogen chloride (HCl) may be liberated. Avoid inhalation of MATERIAL , stay upwind and keep out of low areas. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING Fire fighters should wear protective clothing and self-contained breathing equipment. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS Restrict access to the area until completion of the cleanup.

HANDLING AND STORAGE STORAGE REQUIREMENTS SUITABLE MATERIALS Plasticlor 52L can be stored or processed in lead-lined, brass-lined or stress relieved stainless steel vessels. Mild steel vessels can also be used but it is strongly recommended that these be internally lined with a suitable lacquer, for example a cold-curing epoxy resin. Plasticlor P52L stored in mild steel can result in discolouration of the product as a result of iron contamination. UNSUITABLE MATERIALS Avoid PVC and rubber for gaskets and hoses in contact with Plasticlor.

10 HANDLING/STORAGE PRECAUTIONS Store in a cool well ventilated area. Keep containers closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapour. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Wash contaminated clothing thoroughly before reuse. 8.
