1 PROXIMITY PERFECT READERS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL CASI SYSTEMSThe CASI Model 97X Proximity PerfectTMreaders provide theconvenience of proximity technology in a variety of are economical and easy to install, and provide a fullrange of field-selectable operation modes. All modelsinclude a rugged, weather-resistant ABS plastic 97X readers mount directly on a wall or to a standardUSA dual-width electrical box. Models 970 and 972 aredesigned for conventional wall installation. Metal wall instal-lation requires the metal backplate (supplied with Models971 and 973). Back-to-back reader installation requires useof Models 971 or 973 with an optional isolation plate. Thisplate prevents a badge from being read by a reader mount-ed on the opposite side of a 972 and 973 include a keypad for use when aPersonal Identification Number (PIN) entry is required foradded reader includes a new mechanical tamper switch thatreports if the reader is completely removed from the wall, inaddition to detecting when the reader has been separatedfrom its back plate.

2 READER OPERATIONThe Model 97X readers provide supervised operation forcontinuous checking of reader, door contact, exit button andcommunication line status. The Micro/PX-2000, Micro/PXN-2000 and Micro/5 2RP, 2 SRP and 8RP reader processorboards are fully readers provide maximum badge read distances up to10 inches (254 mm). Read range is a function of reader power and card type. Read range is also influenced by site conditions, wire gauge and cable distance. DIP switchesallow the optimum reader power setting to be selected forsite Model 97X readers have four switch-selectable modesof operation; industry-standard Wiegand, standard F/2F,Supervised F/2F and Silent Supervised F/2F (for sites whereno audible or visual indication of reader communication lossis required).
