The sensors have a rangeof approximately three feet (one meter).If MODEL S is equipped with the optional techpackage, walking up to MODEL S when youhave your key with you automatically unlocksthe doors. Similarly, open the trunk by justwalking up to MODEL S with your key, thenpressing the switch located under the trunk sexterior a door handle, and it extends.

10 Or, if theAUTO-PRESENT HANDLES setting is turnedon (see Using Exterior Door Handles on page5), door handles extend you turn on the walk-away locking settingusing the touchscreen, MODEL S locks whenyou walk away carrying your key with you(see Walk-away Locking on page 6).Warning: To avoid any possibility ofinterference between a pacemaker andthe keyless system's antennas, peoplewith implanted pacemakers shouldensure their pacemaker is kept at leastnine inches (22 cm) away from anykeyless drive antenna mounted inModel S.
