9 (506) 457-7394 2 INTRODUCTION These Technical Guidelines have been established as part of, and in accordance with, regulations respecting On-site sewage disposal Systems under the Public Health Act (PHA). These Guidelines outline the siting and Technical requirements to install, repair, construct, or replace an On-site sewage disposal system in the Province of New Brunswick . Use of the information contained herein will be fundamental to ensuring compliant installations and reducing the risk to public health and the environment.

10 Licensees must follow manufacturer s Guidelines for all parts and materials in respect to the installation of any On-site sewage disposal system. An On-site sewage disposal system , as defined in the PHA, means a septic tank with subsurface disposal field and all other On-site sewage disposal systems that are not connected to a wastewater treatment facility approved by the Minister of Environment and Local Government under the Clean Water Act (CWA). An On-site sewage disposal system can be classified as either conventional or non-conventional.
