Solvent free - no odour during application. Slip resistant - different textures available to suit conditionsto avoid slipping. Liquid applied providing complete protection. Available in a wide range of colours to improve the workingenvironment and identify slip hazard FC150 is a solvent free system based on epoxy resinsand curing agents specially selected for their ability to withstandchemical attack. The system consists of pre-weighed base &hardener components and a Nitoflor colour pack, all of whichcontain reactive elements that are essential to the installationof the slip resistant texture can be provided by the use of one of arange of Nitoflor Antislip Grains which have been carefullygraded to ensure an even epoxy resin floor coating shall be Nitoflor FC150 fromFosroc.

The total dry film thickness of the coating shall be aminimum of 400 microns and shall have a compressivestrength of 70 N/mm2, flexural strength of 40 N/mm2 and atensile strength of 20 N/mm2. The floor shall be prepared andthe coating mixed and applied in accordance with themanufacturer's current data criteriaNitoflor FC150 is applied as a floor coating system comprisingof two top coats (depending on the substrate conditions a primermight be required), each top coat to be a minimum of 200microns thick.

To provide a slip resistant texture, the first topcoat can be dressed with Nitoflor Antislip Grains*.PropertiesThe following values were obtained when tested at 20 C and30 C.@ 20 C@ 30 CPot life:40 mins20 minsCure time:24 hours18 hoursMaximum timebetween coats:36 hours 15 hoursLight traffic use after:24 hours 18 hoursFull traffic use after:48 hours 24 hoursResistance tochemical spillage:7 days 5 daysCompressive strength:70 N/mm2 Flexural strength:40 N/mm2 Tensile strength:20 N/mm2 Water (ASTM C 413:1996)Shore D Hardness:85(ASTM D 2240.)

It is most important therefore that substratesare correctly prepared prior to concrete floorsThese should normally have been placed for at least 28 daysand have a moisture content of less than 5%.

Floors shouldbe sound and free from contamination such as oil and grease, mortar and paint splashes or curing compound laitence can be removed by the use of mechanicalmethods. Dust and other debris should then be removed byvacuum concrete floorsA sound, clean substrate is essential to achieve maximumadhesion. As for new concrete floors dry removal of laitanceby use of mechanical methods is preferable. Oil and greasepenetration should be removed by the use of a proprietarychemical degreaser or by hot compressed air damaged areas or surface irregularities should be repairedusing Nitomortar is not normally required provided the substrate issound, untreated and good quality nonporous concrete.

If anydoubts exist of the quality of the concrete, or if it is porous itshould be primed with Nitoprime 25. Contact the local Fosrocoffice for 25 should be mixed in the proportions the entire contents of the hardener can to the base thoroughly mixed, preferably using a slow speed drilland paddle, the primer should be applied in a thin continuousfilm, using rollers or stiff brushes. Work the primer well intothe surface of the concrete taking care to avoid ponding or primer should be left to achieve a tack-free conditionbefore applying the top coat.

A second coat of primer may berequired if the substrate is excessively the coatingThe base and hardener components of Nitoflor FC150 shouldbe thoroughly stirred before the two are mixed together. Theentire contents of the hardener container should be pouredinto the base container and the two materials mixed thoroughly, then add the colour pot and mix for at least 3 minutes. The useof a heavy-duty slow speed, flameproof or air driven drill fittedwith a Mixing Paddle is desirable. Mix these components inthe quantities supplied taking care to ensure all containers arescraped clean.

Do not add solvent thinners at any applicationThe first coat of Nitoflor FC150 should be applied using a goodquality medium haired pile roller, suitable for epoxy application,or squeegee to achieve a continuous coating. Ensure thatloose hairs on the roller are removed before use. A minimumfilm thickness of 200 microns should be applied. This can beincreased where specifications the base coat has reached initial cure (12 hours @ 20 Cor 5 hours at 35 C). The top coat can be applied by mediumhaired roller, at minimum film thickness of 200 microns.
