Standard movement torque toweight ratio is approximately 4 timesgreater than most other manufacturer shigh torque edgewise metersOur thin element design provides themaximum performance in the smallestof spaces. Available in 11 2 to 31 2 sizesfor vertical or horizontal MetersYOKOGAWA s answer to the squeeze forspace problem. This design allowsmeters to be mounted vertically or hori-zontally. They can stand alone or bestacked in space-saving clusters. Built-inmagnetic shielding prevents interferenceamong METERS and removes the burdenof special Offers These Advantages ..Dust Resistant ConstructionYOKOGAWA Big Look PANEL METERS ,except 11 2 , feature gasketed construction to seal out dust and other air-suspended damaging is ideal for adverse environments. Special dust resistant features are included on all YOKOGAWANew Big Look METERS , (except 11 2 ). For more severe applications, to meet UL-1437 or IEC 144 requirements, othermodels are also available upon Mounting ForHorizon LineHorizon Line PANEL METERS can bemounted either behind or in front of thepanel.

Behind- PANEL mounting is easy .. just remove snap-off mask andmount. No special mounting hardwareor bezel is required. This design featureimproves PANEL appearance .. savestime and money. When illuminatedscales are required, simply position lightsource as shown, or in any suitableposition along the edge of the Mounting Types Available in Stylist SeriesRear PANEL Window MountFront of PANEL Surface MountRear PANEL Surface Mount Available withOptional BezelClean, Readable Case DesignProvides Extra SafetyYOKOGAWA s brand New Big Look andHorizon Line PANEL METERS are designedto provide attractive styling, quick, surereadability for any application .. and abuilt in safety feature to help you meetnational safety requirements. If you mustremove the acrylic cover, you have toremove the instrument itself from thepanel in order to reach the special safetyscrews holding on the cover. Removingthe meter prevents shock hazard.

Thissafety feature is standard on all New BigLook and Horizon Line Sealing Design Establishes A NewIndustry StandardDust resistant construction is now a standard feature ofall New Big Look PANEL METERS 21 2 -41 2 's unique gasket sealing design eliminates the need for a crimped bezel, providing for quick modification and scale changes while maintaining theintegrity of the u t B a n dTaut band is a means of suspending the moving mechanism between two ribbons ofmetal, obviating the need for pivots, jewels andcontrol springs found in conventional mecha-nisms. The absence of friction resulting from this permits greater sensitivitiesand provides more rugged METERS . Commonfailures of conventional METERS subjected toshock testing are cracked jewels and/or blunted pivots. Taut band, without pivot andjewels, consequently, will withstand shock inexcess of that specified for pivot and jewelmeters.

For example, ANSI Specifications forpanel METERS require 50G shock. Taut-bandmeters will withstand 100G and JewelIn this design the coil and pointer are supported by polished steel pivots at each end which fit into jewel bearings. Pivot andjewel METERS are recommended for high-vibration environments because of the mechanism s inherent stability and and repeatability are almost equal to the taut-band s, and good performancefrom the pivot and jewel construction is thereason for its long popularity. Don t specifypivot and jewel METERS for applications thatinvolve high shock, but do take advantage of this meter s ability to withstand DC VoltmetersStandard DC voltmeter sensitivity is 1000ohms/volt. Expressed differently, 1000ohms/volt sensitivity means that the meterdraws approximately one milliamp lower current drains are necessary, hence higher sensitivities may berequired.

The table below compares availablesensitivities, maximum self-contained voltages, and approximate full-scale voltage range could be extended by using external VoltmetersFor very close monitoring of voltages, Zenerdiode expanded scale voltmeters are available in 31 2- and 41 2-inch sizes for AC andDC ratings. Accuracy is of full-scale value. Standard voltage spans are listed in Ratings. Expanded scale voltmeters can be furnished for any mid-span values from 12 to 300 volts. Minimum span is 16% of mid-span Effect AC MetersIron vane voltmeters are sensitive to frequency and should not be used on frequencies other than design frequency.(Standard voltmeters are calibrated at 60 Hertz. Used at 50 Hertz, accuracy becomes 21 4%. There are also 150- and 300-volt ratings listed which are calibrated at 400 Hertz). For calibrations at frequencies otherthan 60 and 400 Hertz, refer to Iron-vane ammeters (which produce a conventional scale distribution with divisionscrowded in lower third of scale) from 10 milliamperes to 50 amperes are virtually unaf-fected by a change in frequency; , a stockammeter (calibrated at 60 Hertz) when used at400 Hertz incurs an additional error of only.

5percent full-scale. If used on 1000 Hertz, theadditional error is 4 percent. We recommenduse of stock (60 Hertz) ammeters on any frequency in the range of 25 Hertz to 400 Hertz. For calibration at frequencies outsidethe 25-Hertz to 400-Hertz range, refer to factory or use a rectifier-type AC MetersRectifier-type METERS differ from iron-vanemechanisms in that: They provide a nominally linear (DC) scalerather than conventional iron-vane distributionwhich has a slight crowding at low end ofscale. AC current measurements of microamperesand milliamperes at minimum power consumption are permitted. AC voltmeters of higher sensitivity(ohms/volt) than iron-vane types can be made. Frequency response of rectifier type metersis essentially flat from 20 to 1,000 Hertz (1%effect from reference to 60 Hertz).Rectifier-type METERS employ a full-wave rectifier and are available in ratings of 500 A to DC MetersDC METERS can be mechanically suppressedup to 20% of end-scale value.

However, additional errors are introduced by sup-pressions; ,Errors at 20% suppression = 3% of end-scaleMany process transmitters in use today provide a 4-20mA signal (occasionally 10-50mA or 1-5mA) and require a suppressed-zerometer with operating zero set. These areknown as live-zero and are AccuracyStandard calibration accuracy is 2% of fullscale. DC METERS can be calibrated to 1% offull scale as a special model in 31 2 and 41 2 with mirrored Mounting Case 21 2-inch New BigLook MeterAvailable only for 21 2-inch Type 250 panelmeters, for indoor or outdoor use, the conduit-mounted case provides protection to the meterunder severe environmental conditions. Theconduit case is both sealed and weatherproofand is pre-drilled, ready for mounting of sepa-rately ordered PANEL METERS . Assembly of meterinto case is done by purchaser.
