2 Lt is further clorified that ony condidote, whose application has beenoccepted by the concerned Reseorch ond Recognition Committee provisionolly odmitted before 11thJuly, 2009 will be covered under the old PHULE pune university offers research programmes in different subjects listed in Statute160 and in inter-disciplinary areas leading to award of Degree of Doctor of Philosophy. A candidateshall ordinarily work in a recognized place of research including the university Departments,Research lnstitutes and Affiliated Colleges recognized by the university .

3 The rules regardingeligibility, entrance examination, interview, registration, supervision, submission and evaluation ofthesis, viva-voce, defence of thesis etc. shall be as :For admission to the programme in a related subject in the Faculty, applicants fulfilling any ofthe following criteria shall be treated as eligible:Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 50%marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA)Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination in the Faculty ofLaw with at least 55% % relaxation in the required percentage of marks will be given to the students of State ofM a ha rashtra be longi ng to SC/ST/DT/NT/SBC/O BC working in National Laboratories/lnstitutes/Government/Priva te Organizationnominated/sponsored by the respective employer.

4 These persons should have a PostGraduate Degree and holding a rank of Assistant Director or mentioned rules will also be applicable to the foreign candidates who have obtaineda Masters Degree from any of the recognized lndian will exceptional abilities having passed graduate degree examination with 50% ofmarks and with 15 years experience after graduation in the related field. However, candidatespossessing Degree in the faculty of Engineering shall also have patents/ intellectualproperty rights registered in their names. ln such cases, exceptional abilities will be decided bythe Research and Recognition Committee citizen of an age of 60 years and above, with a Master's Degree.

5 Ln exceptional cases,the eligibility for senior citizen shall be at the discretion of the fellow members of the lnstitute of Chartered Accountants and / or lnstitute of Cost andWorks Accountants and / or having qualification of Company Secretary shall be eligible foradmission to the programme in the subject allocated to the Board of Studies concernedunder the Faculty of Commerce. Provided that such candidates possess a Bachelor's Degree ofany recognized university and also have at least 5 years' professional )c)d)e)s)A Graduate in any Faculty who has developed important new technology (new for thecountry)

6 Or designed and fabricated special instruments or apparatus which are deemed by acompetent judge to be a valuable contribution in the field of Engineering/Pharmacy, may bepermitted by the Research and Recognition Committee of the Faculty concerned, on therecommendation of appropriate Board or Boards of Studies to submit his thesis for the in that Faculty. Such a candidate must have at least 5 years' standing as a Bachelor ofthe Faculty for research in inter-disciplinary areas and from applicants belonging to a Facultyor subjects other than the Faculty or subjects in which the research is proposed to be doneand from the international candidates (those who have not obtained the Master's Degreefrom lndian Universities)shall be considered on the basis of the proven ability and aptitude ofthe researcher for such kind of research.

7 Such proposal shall be examined by the Guide andthe Head, Place of Research before giving provisional admission. The admission will beconfirmed after the Research and Recognition Committee/s concerned, approves the procedure for admission should be evolved by the Faculty ) Percentage of marks required for admission of foreign candidates (those who have notobtained Master's degree from lndian Universities) will be 50%or equivalent GPA at Master'sDegree (a)Procedure for conduct of Entrance ExaminationEntrance Examination will be normally conducted once in a year and two admission cyclesconsecutively.

8 Lt is essential for Foreign Students for Entrance ExaminationThe candidates fulfilling at least one of the following conditions will be exempted fromEntrance in GATE (valid score*)/GPAT (valid scorex)/SET/NET/JRF/SRF examination ofthe apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DgT and DST tnspire fellowship only; Degree in a relevant subject completed from any Recognized university ;Minimum experience of 5 years as an approved teacher of SAVITRIBAI PHULE PuneUniversity in affiliated college/recognized institution/ university Department;Senior citizen of an age of 60 years and above with Master's degree;v.

9 Candidates such as Advocates/Doctor's/Artist/lndustry Professional/Employees ofGovernment, Semi -Government Organisations fulfilling conditions prescribed for therelevant Faculty as mentioned in Schedule.(* to be decided by the respective departments/ Research Centres)Candidates entitled for exemption from the Entrance Examination shall submit theRegistration Form along with relevant supporting documents within the stipulated periodbefore the date of Structure of the Entrance Examination:For Entrance Examination, there would be two papers Paper-l and Paper-2.

10 Paper-1would be General Aptitude Test of 100 marks and Paper-2 would be Subject-wise/Faculty-wise Test of 100 1: General Aptitude Test which will have 100 questions with multiple choice coveringLogical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Language of Passing: Candidate who score 50% and more will be declared as passed (45%forthe candidates belonging to SC/ST/DT/NT/SBC/OBC categories). The list of successfulcandidates in Paper 1 will be declared faculty-wise and such candidates will be eligible 2: Subject Specific Test: This paper will be of 100 marks.
