Septic tanks must be designed according to ‘AS/NZS 1546.1:2008 On-site Domestic Wastewater Treatment Units Septic Tanks’. In NSW any proprietary septic tank under 10,000 litres must be accredited by NSW Health. Larger tanks may be designed and produced on location but they must comply with AS/NZS 1546.1:2008. NSW
