The resultingshock wave strikes the advancing surface ofthe impeller at sonic velocity. Four pressurepulses occur each revolution, transmittingshock loads to the gears and BEARING LIFEThe pre-pressurization of the low pres-sure pocket through the Whispair cavitysmooths the pulsations and results in lessshock being transmitted through the impel-lers to the bearings, resulting in approximately20% longer bearing VIBRATIONThe reduction in the magnitude of thepressure pulsation results in smoother NOISEThe pressure pulses, inherent in the ro-tary-lobe design, are also the major source ofblower noise.

2 The rapid backflow of air intothe blower from the discharge line, four timesper revolution, results in high noise levels inthe conventional blower .
