The Distributing Agency for SPORT and RECREATION , established in terms of the Lotteries Act, 1997 (No. 57 of 1997, as amended), is once again in a position to consider applications for funding from the proceeds of the National Lottery. In adjudicating applications, the SPORT and RECREATION Distributing Agency (SRDA) will focus on the following strategic funding areas, aligned to Government's commitment to focus on sports development, especially at grassroots level: 1. National Sports Federations can apply for a maximum grant of R 5 000 for: Transformation & Development (minimum of 50% of value of the grant application);. International participation;. The Distributing Agency for SPORT and RECREATION , established in terms of the Lotteries Act, 1997 (No. 57 of 1997, as amended), is once again in a position to consider applications for funding from the proceeds of the National Lottery. In adjudicating applications, the SPORT and RECREATION Distributing Agency (SRDA) will focus on the following strategic funding areas, aligned to Government's commitment to focus on sports development, especially at grassroots level: 1. National Sports Federations can apply for a maximum grant of R 5 000 for: Transformation & Development (minimum of 50% of value of the grant application);. International participation;. Affiliates to Provincial Federations (Regions and Districts or Sub-Union Bodies) can apply for a maximum grant of R750, for: Participation in leagues;. Sports equipment and apparel;. Transformation & Development (minimum of 50% of value of the grant application);. Capacity building. Note: A detailed plan for the Transformation & Development must be submitted with the application. 4. Sports Clubs can apply for a maximum grant of R500, for: New basic sports facilities;. Upgrading of existing sports facilities.

3 Participation in leagues for clubs based in previously disadvantaged and rural areas (maximum amount of R50, );. Sports equipment (maximum amount of R100, );. 5. Public Schools (Quintiles 1-5) can apply for an amount up to a maximum of R300, for: New basic sports facilities and upgrading of existing SPORT facilities;. Sports equipment and apparel; (maximum amount R50 );. 2. 6. Sports NGOs (NPOs or NPCs) whose primary objectives are to implement sports and RECREATION -based programmes in communities. Can apply for a maximum of R300, for: Community empowerment and RECREATION -based sports programmes 7. Public Tertiary Institutions can apply for an amount up to a maximum of R1 000 for: Transformation & Development (minimum of 50% of value of the grant application);. Domestic participation;. Athlete training and preparation.

4 8. Provincial Sports Academies can apply for a maximum of R400, for: Team coordination, athlete preparation, athlete support and administration. 9. Provincial Sports Confederations/Councils can apply for a maximum of R400, for: Administration and coordination of SPORT activities and meetings amongst the districts and regions. 10. Regional Sports Councils can apply for a maximum of R200, for: Administration and coordination of SPORT activities and meetings amongst local sports councils. The extent to which a complaint application is funded will be determined by the strategic fit of the application. Application that fall outside of the strategic focus detailed above will not be considered. 3. The Distributing Agency for Sports and RECREATION will give preference to applications from organisations that advance the interest of rural, under-privileged and poor communities, and those provinces that have historically received less than the prescribed minimum sports allocation, as well as those organisations that focus on SPORT transformation and development.

5 Applications for funding will be considered from registered non-profit organisations or affiliated sports organisations that submit all the required documents and information as outlined in the Guidelines. Applicants that are awaiting a response on a previous application are advised not to apply until they have received correspondence on the outcome of the previous application. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who have been in existence for less than six (6) months may apply through an agent/ representative/ conduit. No applicant to whom a grant was made by the National Lotteries Commission will be eligible to apply for another grant within a period of twelve (12) months from the date of receipt of that grant, irrespective of whether the project is different to the one previously funded. The twelve (12) month cooling-off period will be counted from the date of the NLC's last payment to the beneficiary.

6 Please refer to clause 11 of the grant agreement signed with NLC. This condition is only applicable to organisations funded under the 2015 Call. 4.
