1 16 Tech Circle Natick, MA 01760 (508) 655-1340 1 Technical Service Bulletin Bulletin Number: 2018-06 Date: March 14th, 2018 Subject: Purging / Clearing Memory of a SCU and DCD This document details the proper way to reset a Site Control Unit (SCU) and Door Control Device (DCD). By clearing the memory, the SCU will be able to connect with a new or existing system; while the DCD is typically cleared if any issues should arise. Always do a full site / controller download after purging a board to ensure that all software programming is loaded. Site Control Unit (SCU) The SCU is a communications hub and memory buffer for the door controllers and other devices within the Millennium family.
2 A single SCU can support up to 100 DCDs, 4 ECUs, and 10 ECDs. 2. 1. Steps to manually clear all data 1. Pull the power source 2. Grab a paperclip and connect it to the first pin indicated by a red arrow. Make certain both ends are connected to the circuit board pins for no less than three minutes 3.
